The research process and the creative development will unfold through a production path distributed spatially and temporally in various international residences in Europe, the United States and Canada. The first stages of research has been developed in New York, between the archives of the Media and Performance of the MoMA and the studies of the La MaMa Theatre, supported by the 369gradi AMINA project > ANIMA (Soul) and in Montreal, within the Le Parc and Pulse cluster of the Milieux art and technology centre. The production, financed by the European project Be SpectACTive, will be instead developed between the end of 2019 and 2020 through various creative residences :Domino, Zagreb, Nitra Festival, Nitra, Bakelit Multi Art Center, Budapest – to debut in Sansepolcro at Kilowatt Festival, leader of the European project. There are also two other stages of residence at Sementerie Artistiche Crevalcore / H(abita)T and L ‘arboreto – Teatro Dimora | La Corte Ospitale ::: Emilia-Romagna Residence Center.

CONTEXT investigates the concept of spatial action as a continuous redefinition of a context by the agents who are part of it, building a narrative matrix that configure different possibilities starting from the same coding. The starting point of the research is the geometric figure of the triangle, which is used as an element of theoretical reflection and as a visual and performative investigation.

To create his work in fact the artist will use wooden triangles, whose two faces are respectively black and white. Like a “bit”, to which it can be associated two values 0/1, the triangle becomes a module, a small unit of information. If repeated in space, in their different white or black positions, the triangles become strings of binary code. What will derive from this is a matrix made up of space-time points, a visual and performative texture where the performers are intended as manufacturing bodies, capable of being vehicles of variable and discontinuous energies and of combinations and permutations of the context.

How many possibilities does this system have? How many possibilities does this context have?
Execution is a mechanical but evocative action that attracts the viewer by thought, causing a sort of meditation.

The work will invite contemplation of seriality, rhythm, incompleteness and the ability of geometric shapes to be simultaneously simple and complex: it is both reductive and expansive. On a terrain with continuously redefined edges we begin a journey that has no resolution. A journey that is emotionally dry but fantastic at the same time, an intransigent minimalism but always in touch with the environment that surrounds it.
